Dentons is the largest corporate law firm in the world by number of lawyers . With more than 10,000 professionals, it is represented at over 175 locations in 79 countries.
In Europe Dentons is represented in 17 countries with a total of 28 locations; in Germany in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf. In addition, the firm has offices in Africa, Asia, Australia and North, Central and South America.
Dentons is organized as a Swiss association and is a polycentric law firm that is neither managed from a single company headquarters nor characterized by a predominant national culture.
history
Dentons was formed in 2013 through the merger of the European law firm Salans , the Anglo-American unit SNR Denton and the Canadian law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain . Various law firm cultures came together under the name Dentons, which is why Dentons sees itself as “polycentric” in its structure. Today's European unity is based on the legacy of the Salans law firm, founded in Paris in 1978, which was particularly well represented in Central and Eastern Europe. SNR Denton was created in 2010 through the merger of the US law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal with the British law firm Denton Wilde Sapte.
In 2015, Dentons joined the Chinese law firm 大成 ( Dacheng ) and the US law firm McKenna Long & Aldridge.
In Europe, the firm opened new offices in Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Watford, in Milan and Rome, Munich and Düsseldorf and in Tbilisi since 2015. The expansion of the presence in the Netherlands came about in 2017 through the merger with Boekel (now Dentons Boekel), in the same year Dentons opened through the merger with Maclay Murray & Spens in Scotland.
On a global level, the firm expanded in 2016 through the merger with Rodyk , the oldest full-service commercial law firm in Singapore, in the Asia-Pacific region. In the same year, Dentons opened by merging with the law firm Gadens in Australia. Since then there have been further mergers and openings in Central and South America with locations in Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Venezuela as well as in Africa, Indonesia and Malaysia and the Caribbean.
Dentons has been operating an accelerator for legal tech since 2015 .
