The Boomerang (in the original The magic boomerang ) is an Australian children's and youth television series produced by Pacific Films Production and broadcast from 1965 to 1966 by the Australian television station ABC . The ZDF showed 26 episodes of the 45-episode original series. They were broadcast on ZDF on Sundays from March 12, 1967 to September 17, 1967.

The television series is about 13-year-old Tom Thumbleton, who lives with his parents on a sheep farm in Australia and who ends up in possession of a magical boomerang . This has the ability to stop time in the immediate vicinity as long as it is flying. The boomerang thrower is excluded; he is the only one who can move until the boomerang is caught again. Tom uses the magical throwing device for pranks, but also to prevent crime and ward off dangers.

Episodes

The television series originally comprised two seasons , of which the 39 episodes of the first season were produced in black and white and the only six episodes of the second season were produced in color. The line-up of the two seasons was also completely different. On ZDF only episodes of the first season with a length of 30 minutes were shown.
