detektor.fm is a German-language internet radio and podcast label based in Leipzig . After registering with the Saxon State Media Authority (SLM), detektor.fm began broadcasting on December 4, 2009 under the slogan “Back to Topic”. The program organizer is BEBE Medien GmbH, managed by the founders.
Since January 31, 2018, the station has been broadcast terrestrially via DAB + in a small-scale trial operation of SLM for the first time in Leipzig on Kanal 6C and Freiberg on Kanal 10D.
program
According to its own account, the station broadcasts a mixture of profound journalism and alternative pop music. With an average of 5 to 10 minutes, the contributions are significantly longer than at other stations. The focus areas are politics, culture, economy, knowledge, society, digital and music.
The main components of the broadcast schedule are the daily live broadcast Der Tag between 4 and 7 p.m. and the morning magazine between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Special formats, radio plays, podcasts and music magazines run in the evenings and on the weekends.
Podcasts
With podcasts such as "Das brand eins Magazin zum Hören", the bicycle show "Antritt" or the "Forschungsquartett", detektor.fm is one of the most important independent podcast providers in Germany. The podcast offer has existed since the station was launched and has been continuously expanded in recent years. There are now podcasts on various interests. These include the gaming podcast "Rush", the garden podcast "Gartenradio", the journalistic format "piqd Background", the climate podcast "Mission Energiewende", the poetry slam podcast "RadioPoeten" and the food podcast "Feinkost".
particularities
After 6 months of broadcasting, detektor.fm was awarded 1st place in the nationwide NEG Website Award of the Federal Ministry of Economics and was able to prevail against 2,400 submissions. From the jury's statement: “This combination of 'handpicked' music and information is very well expressed in the design of the website. (...) The target group-oriented and well-considered conception of the website as well as the professional implementation are exemplary for the industry in every respect. "
In 2011, the station's website was nominated for the Grimme Online Award in the information category, along with 24 more . In the same year, Detektor.fm was voted 9th among the best editors of 2011 by Medium Magazin . In 2012 Robbie Williams presented the program to the makers with the "German Radio Prize", the most prestigious award to date.
The editorial team works on the basis of an editorial code which is based on the German Press Code , the BBC Guidelines and the Reuters Handbook of Journalism . Audio offers dominate the website, which are available for unlimited access and download.

The editorial office
The core team consists of six employees, they are supported by an expanded environment of radio journalists and editors, consisting of around 30 people who work irregularly for the project. These employees work full-time or part-time for various ARD broadcasters and other national media. A manager on duty who rotates according to the shift schedule is responsible for broadcasting . The marketing and advertising sales area is separate from the editorial department in terms of personnel and organization. Detektor.fm is marketed by the radio marketer ARD AS&S Radio.
