German-Indonesian Society

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German-Indonesian Society e. V. in Cologne (DIG) was founded on May 15, 1950, even before Indonesia and the Federal Republic of Germany had established diplomatic relations with one another.

Since then she has seen herself as a mediator between the two countries, their people and cultures. Numerous books and publications on Indonesia have appeared from the circle of DIG members.

It works in public with events (lectures, discussion evenings, exhibitions and performances). The magazine KITA - The Magazine of the German-Indonesian Society , published by DIG, is the only periodical in the German-speaking area that deals exclusively with Indonesia.
