The German-Norwegian Friendship Society e. V. (DNF) was founded in March 1988 as a non-profit organization in Essen . The association aims to promote international understanding and culture, in particular to promote and improve cultural and social relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Norway . The company is recognized by the German tax office as particularly worthy of support in accordance with the non-profit purpose of promoting international understanding. The company is based in Essen. This publishes the DNF magazine with Norwegian topics every two months .
Regional groups
In the nationally organized regional groups, members have the opportunity to obtain extensive information about social, scenic and economic conditions and to maintain cultural traditions. Some groups have intensive exchanges with Norwegian groups. The work of the regional group leaders and the members of the regional groups is supplemented by internal and external speakers. The regional groups are the competence centers of the DNF with many experts on cultural, landscape and economic questions about Norway. The regional groups have a large number of experts with in-depth knowledge of Norway.
