The Deutsche Classic-Kegler Union ( DCU ) is a sports association in bowling . It is an association of bowlers in the Classic area, formerly known as Asphalt. It is played in the traditional throwing distance over 100 (2 × 50) and 200 (4 × 50) throw total cone scoring. Based on the number of members, the DCU is the world's largest association in the traditional throwing and scoring system.

Purpose and task

The purpose and task of the DCU are:

  • to promote and organize the bowling sport ”Classic” in its traditional form.
  • To organize German championships and other sporting competitions, as well as to carry out other sporting measures.
  • To train and educate athletic leaders and teachers in compliance with the DCU's training guidelines.
  • to ensure and promote youth work according to the principles of the youth regulations of the DCU in the sense of the German Sports Youth (DSJ) and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB).

Traditional sport bowling in the Classic area

Game types

All competitions, except for the U10, are carried out in combination

  • Play to the full: After each throw, all pins are set up again.
  • Clear away: The remaining pin picture is played until all nine pins have fallen. Then it is reorganized.
  • Combined game: The first half is played in full, the second in clearing.

Game implementation

  • Team line-up: The game is played with six players per team. For each game, up to 10 players must be named to the referee before the start of the game. Of these, 8 players can actually be used. The players reported to the referee are to be read out by the referee when the team is presented.
  • Substitute players: A maximum of two players can be substituted on per game. Within the framework of the exchange quota, it is possible that the player who was substituted first is exchanged for the second substitute player. The substitute immediately continues to play on the result of the substituted player. The substitution is to be reported to the referee immediately and noted by him in the throwing record and game report.
  • Break-in time: All players have a break-in time of a maximum of 5 minutes on their starting lane. If injured during the break-in period, another player can be used. The game of the individual starters begins with the command of the referee / supervisor “start game, time is running” or with the delivery of the first ball to be scored. The break-in period can only be used once. A substitute is not entitled to break-in time.
  • Number of throws and time: 6 × 100 throws (2 × 50 throws combined, each 25 full and 25 clearing) or 6 × 200 throws (4 × 50 throws combined) are played over two or four fairways. Each player has 20 minutes per throw series (50 throws). The lane is changed after each throwing series.

Game rating

The motto is: "Who knocks down more pins, wins."

  • Individual competitions: The person who played the most skittles is better placed in the ranking. With the same number of pins played, the one with the higher clearing result is better placed. If this is also equal, the lower number of missed throws decides on the placement. If no ranking can be determined yet, the lowest result of a series of preliminary and final runs will be counted to the disadvantage of the person concerned. If this is also equal, the second lowest result is used, etc.
  • Team competitions: The scoring of the games in the home and return system is based on the skittles played. The team with the most skittles played wins the game.

Bullets

The game is played with full balls (160 mm), youngsters up to U14 play with a 140 mm full ball. It is permitted to play with your own balls. This requires a ball pass, which must be presented before the game. Playing with the perforated ball is regulated in the member associations, as is playing with a solid ball 120 mm for U10 competitions.
