German crusade

The following (partial) crusades were designated as the German Crusade :

  • The German Crusade of 1096, as a side move of the People's Crusade in Central Europe, severe pogroms against the Jewish urban population, especially along the Rhine;
  • the German Crusade of Frederick Barbarossa, 1189-1190, part of the Third Crusade;
  • the German crusade of Heinrich VI., 1197, which was prematurely canceled because of his untimely death.
