The German Energy Consultant Network (DEN) eV was founded in 2002 by engineers, architects and technicians who work as energy consultants nationwide and who express the desire for neutral and economically independent energy consultancy. The DEN has grown from 47 founding members to over 700 members. The motto from practice for practice has served the DEN as a guideline for its work to this day. Energy consulting includes advisory and planning services for energy-saving construction and modernization of buildings. The goals of the DEN are to comprehensively strengthen and secure and improve the quality of advice in energy advice. In addition, the association gives the energy consultants a political hearing nationwide.
history
When the DEN was founded in 2002, the focus for potential members was in particular on academically trained energy consultants. The DEN soon opened up to technicians and foremen who work in energy consulting. The original focus of the DEN was energy advice for residential buildings. However, DEN quickly expanded its field of activity to include comprehensive areas for energy-saving construction such as non-residential buildings, municipal projects, SMEs and industrial companies. In 2006, DEN founded the DEN Academy and in 2007 introduced a DEN seal of quality. DEN GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2008 so that the nationwide range of services in the network could be expanded. In 2012, DEN became a network partner of the federal government's list of energy efficiency experts. In response to the increasing number of members, DEN elected 12 state spokesmen for the first time in 2010. Since 2016 there have been competence teams at DEN in which energy consultants come together on their own focus topics and work together.
membership
Requirements for membership in DEN are that the potential member has a basic qualification according to § 21 EnEV and works independently within the meaning of § 5 No. 2 of the statutes. § 5 No. 2 of the association's statutes states that the member may not derive any other financial advantage from his activity than his agreed fee. If the person works for an energy supply company or a craft business that manufactures or sells construction or building technology products, they are excluded from membership.
DEN Academy
It is the nationwide educational institution of the German Energy Consultant Network and offers face-to-face courses, courses and online seminars on important and current energy consulting topics. Energy consultants need practical and advanced training certificates to e.g. B. to be listed on the energy efficiency expert list for federal funding programs or to apply for an extension of the listing.
