Digital Natural Motion

Digital Natural Motion (DNM) is a television technology method that calculates missing frames on a 2D basis from surrounding images by generating synthetic "intermediate images".

The system is mainly used in televisions made by Philips , which work internally with 60 Hz, but are also supposed to play back films with 50 fields or 25 full frames per second without jerking. It also prevents the restless horizontal tracking shots known from the cinema by using the calculated intermediate images to ensure greater sharpness of movement .
