Digital situation model

The digital situation model (DSM) is part of the digital landscape model in addition to the digital terrain model . The artificial and natural objects firmly connected to the earth's surface are referred to as a situation. These are divided into object groups (e.g. settlements, traffic, bodies of water, land cover). The DSM contains floor plan information in the form of vector data and factual information.

However, the term digital situation model is rarely used in practice. Instead, the term digital landscape model is often used. The ATKIS -DLM is strictly speaking just a situation model.
