The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The eight participating teams first played a simple round-robin tournament . The first four played for the title in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. The total of the team points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a defeat), then the number of board points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw) decided the placement , 0 points for a loss). For the final placement, both the points from the preliminary round and the points from the final round were taken into account.
Game dates
The competitions were held on October 16 and 23, November 6, 13 and 27, 1994, January 8 and 22, February 19, March 12 and 26, 1995.
Preliminary round
The top three Gambit Bonnevoie , Cercle d'échecs Dudelange and Le Cavalier Differdange each achieved one victory and one defeat in a direct comparison. While Bonnevoie and Dudelange won the other competitions, Differdange lost Belvaux, who qualified for the Poule Haute through this success.
With 6: 1 points each, Bonnevoie and Dudelange had the best starting conditions, with defending champion Bonnevoie being four board points ahead. However, since Bonnevoie did not get beyond a draw against both Dudelange and Belvaux, while Dudelange won the other two competitions, Dudelange was the new champion.
After the preliminary round, the relegation of Bettembourg and the relegation of Diekirch were practically unavoidable. Dommeldange-Beggen went into the finals half a point behind Remich, but secured early relegation by winning against Remich and Diekirch.
