Doris D & the Pins were a British-Dutch girl group in the early 1980s.

history

The group was formed in 1980 from a dance formation called The Maria More Dancers who appeared on the television program Top Pop . At the center of the English singer and dancer Doris D was (actually: Debbie Jenner) which in the music store , entitled Funkytown the American formation Lipps, Inc. occurred. There were also the Dutch Ingrid de Goede, Yvonne van Splunteren, Irene vd Hoeven and the English Dona Baron.

The Dutch composer Piet Souer wrote the hit Shine Up for the group , which reached number one in both the Netherlands and Belgium. The song reached number 15 in Germany. The successor Dance On was also well placed. The Dutch dancers around Doris D were replaced in 1982 by English women who had originally performed under the name Profile , while the Dutch members adopted the name Risque , and the composition also changed in the following years.

In Germany Doris D & the Pins could be seen several times in the show Musikladen . In 1985 the group disbanded.
