The Dornieden Group is an owner-managed project developer who works in residential construction with Dornieden Generalbau GmbH, Fairhome GmbH and Vista Terraced House GmbH. The group of companies builds single and multi-family houses in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Lower Saxony.

history

Dornieden was founded in 1913 by Carl Dornieden in Mönchengladbach and initially worked as a civil engineering company. After the First World War, the company helped to design the Mönchengladbach market square and extended the runway of the old airfield on Aachener Strasse. After the Second World War, Dornieden was involved in the reconstruction of Mönchengladbach Minster and in converting Hindenburgstrasse into a pedestrian zone. After his father's death in 1949, Norbert Dornieden took over the company, which is now run by the third generation of Martin and Michael Dornieden. Peter Veiks was appointed as a further managing director in 2006.

Martin Dornieden has been chairman of the BFW regional association of independent real estate and housing companies in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010.

In 2020, the referential building permit was applied for the first time in North Rhine-Westphalia together with the city of Gelsenkirchen. This allowed 91 terraced houses to be approved with only 4 building permits. The state government has anchored a corresponding passage in the state building regulations (BauO NRW 2018) (Section 66 Paragraph 5).

Corporate structure

Dornieden Generalbau focuses on individual, location-based residential construction. In 2008 the Vista Terraced House GmbH was founded. Vista builds single-family houses in serial production and has four standardized house types on offer. Fairhome GmbH, founded in 2015, focuses on apartment building and offers five standardized apartment types. The first projects were realized in Mönchengladbach, Krefeld and Gelsenkirchen. The group of companies is mainly active in the Rhineland and Ruhr area. Vista expanded into the Rhine-Main area in 2015.

Awards

  • In 2015, Dornieden Generalbau GmbH was awarded the golden Fiabci Prix d'Excellence architecture prize for the Colón building ensemble in the Park Linné residential area in Cologne-Braunsfeld .
  • In 2017 Dornieden Generalbau GmbH was counted among "Germany's customer champions".
  • In 2018, Fairhome GmbH was awarded the Fiabci Prix d'Excellence “Special Prize for Affordable Construction” for the project on Schlossstrasse in Mönchengladbach.
