Douk Douk
The Douk Douk is a French pocket knife . The simple construction has a carbon steel blade. It has been manufactured by the company M. C. Cognet from Thiers since 1929. The name of the knife is derived from the mysterious legendary figure Duk-Duk from the South Pacific. The knife was particularly popular in the French colonies. It was produced in large numbers and has a reputation similar to the Opinel knife.

- Sorcier (magician) - standard design, dark handle with Douk Douk figure, carbon blade
- El-Baraka - version with a nickel-plated handle, the motif on the handle is a Tourag Agadez cross, the version was specially built for the market in North Africa, as it was feared that Muslims might find offense with the figure of the duk duk.
- Tiki - motif on the handle with a Polynesian Tiki figure, the blade is darkly phosphated
- l'Écureuil (squirrel) - with a different blade geometry
Trivia
In the Algerian War , the knife was a popular, inexpensive weapon. The National Liberation Front ( FLN) is said to have used the knife to punish defectors and cut off their noses or ears.
