Breakthrough volume

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The breakthrough volume ( breakthrough volume , BTV) is an important parameter in adsorptive accumulation of gas components on solid adsorbents .

Breakthrough volume

Volume of a test gas that can be passed through the sorption tube before the concentration of the eluted gas reaches 5% of the test gas concentration used, also e.g. B. in SPE (Solid Phase Extraction) as the volume of the eluent before it reaches 1% of the sample solution concentration.
