Dusendüwelswarf (newspaper)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dusendüwelswarf was the title of a newspaper with which the farmer's leader Claus Heim wanted to revive the Schleswig-Holstein rural people's movement after his release from prison in 1932 . The newspaper appeared only from January 28, 1933 to September 30, 1933, 36 issues appeared, then it was banned for six months. There were no more issues.

The title of the newspaper is reminiscent of the Dusenddüwelswarf (in Low German spelling with just one d) , on which the Dithmarsch state monument stands, commemorating the battle of Hemmingstedt , in which Dithmarsch farmers defeated representatives of the Danish and Holstein authorities in 1500.

In the first edition of the newspaper Heim once again issued the slogan to take the path of self-help, which culminated in the words: “The farmer is only allowed to leave the court as a corpse!” After he was in the 36th edition under the heading “The lost plaice “had demanded that all farmers who had lost their property in the economic crisis be given back their inherited farms, Dusendüwelswarf was banned for six months. Thereupon Claus Heim stopped his political activities.
