Edward H. Plumb

Edward Holcomb Plumb (born June 6, 1907 in Streator , Illinois , † April 18, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film composer and orchestrator , who was best known for his work for Walt Disney .

Live and act

Plumb was born in Streator, Illinois. His first work in 1938 was the music for Walt Disney's short film Mother Goose Goes Hollywood . In the following years he composed the music for short animated films, including others for Walt Disney but also for the animated film series Tom and Jerry ( The Missing Mouse , 1953). In addition to his work as a film composer, Plumb was also active as an orchestrator (including the films Peter Pan , Lady and the Tramp , Dumbo and Train of the Fearless ). Plumb was married and had three daughters.

Plumb has been nominated for an Oscar four times : Bambi (1943), Victory Through Air Power (1944), Three Caballeros in Samba Fever (1944) and Three Caballeros (1946).
