The Decoration of Honor of the German Traffic Guard is an award of the German Traffic Guard , which was donated in two classes on November 7, 1957 with the approval of the Federal President . Since then, the honorary badge has been awarded to people who have earned themselves through their successful work (execution in silver) or outstanding individual trades (execution in gold) in increasing road safety, in traffic accident prevention as well as in reducing the consequences of traffic accidents and other activities of traffic safety have made.

The honorary badge, which is presented with the certificate and signature of the incumbent President of the German Traffic Guard, becomes the property of the person on loan. It can be withdrawn again if the wearer has proven to be unworthy of the award by committing a dishonorable crime.

Appearance and wearing style

The badge of honor consists of a white Greek cross and shows the green traffic watch symbol in the middle, which is surrounded by a green writing ring with the inscription: SAFETY IN ROAD TRAFFIC . The back of the badge of honor shows the five-line inscription on a smooth background: For / Promotion / Safety / in road traffic / German traffic watch over a three-leaf laurel branch with fruits.

The 1st class badge is framed in silver and has gold-colored writing. The 2nd class, on the other hand, is framed in silver and has silver lettering. Both classes are worn on the upper left side of the chest of the borrower on a green ribbon, which is lined with gold in 1st class and silver in 2nd class. Women wear the same ribbon as a ribbon.
