Badges of honor for the royal volunteers
The honorary badge for the royal volunteers was in August 1815 by the French King Louis XVIII. donated. The volunteers from the surveys in some departments were honored for the Bourbons of the years 1814/15.
Appearance
The badge of honor is an eight-pointed, silver-edged, green-enameled cross with gold balls at the tips. Between the arms of the cross is a silver lily . A red center plate shows the year 1815 on a white crossbar . The border of the center shield is white with a gold border. The inscription is Volontaires Royaux . The vertical cross arm with the crown over a silver lily is designed to attach the ribbon. The reverse is decorated with the golden portrait of the donor on the central shield. Here, too, a legend Dieu, le Roi, la Patrie .
The award was carried on a red band with white water.
