War of unification

As unification war or wars of unification mainly more be called almost the same conflicts that led to the emergence of some nation states in the 19th century:

  • the Japanese Boshin War (1868/69)
  • in the singular the German War (1866), or further in the plural the three German Wars of Unification (1864, 1866, 1870/71)
  • the armed conflicts in the context of the Italian Risorgimento , especially between the Sardinian War (1859) and the occupation of the Papal States (1870)
