The Kossino railway accident was a multiple collision that occurred on January 2, 1932 near Kossino . 68 people died.

A fully occupied suburban train from Moscow ran over a pedestrian on a double-track route . The train stopped to retrieve the body. It was neglected to secure the train against traffic behind. It was followed by a train, which hit the stationary train at about 60 km / h and smashed six of its wagons. The rescue operation that was now beginning was chaotic: injured travelers were also evacuated via the parallel track in the opposite direction, again without securing them. A third locomotive drove here in people who were on this track. A fourth train approaching the scene of the accident was stopped just in time.

68 people died and 130 were injured. 11 railway workers were brought to justice.
