El Pao

El Pao is a village in the state of Cojedes in northern Venezuela .

It is the headquarters of the El Pao district ( municipality ), which has an estimated population of 14,507 residents.

The Church of San Juan Bautista is one of the oldest churches in Venezuela, the first construction of which falls in 1661.

The Río Pao , which gave the settlement its name, flows through the village. The economic basis of the region is mainly livestock.
