Element theory

Element theory denotes:

  • Three-element theory , according to which a state consists of the elements state territory, state people, and state authority
  • Four-element doctrine , according to which all being consists of the four basic elements or "essences" fire, water, air and earth
  • Five-element theory , Daoist theory for describing nature, according to which it consists of the elements wood, fire, metal, water and earth
  • Corpuscular theory, see atomism
