Endler und Kumpf is the oldest trading company and wholesaler in the East Westphalian city of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In August 1759 the trading house was founded by Philipp Endler and a Mr. Kumpf (first name unknown) in Minden directly after the battle of Minden . As so-called " sutlers ", the founders stayed here in the region in order to conduct their trade from here. It is the oldest trading house in Minden. In 1804 they got the number 001 in the new trade register as "Grossiers in kurtzen Waaren" . In 1961, Endler & Kumpf moved from the city center to Schwarzer Weg, and the trading company had meanwhile become a company with many areas and real estate. The houses on the Scharn with house numbers 1 to 5 belong to the managing director Alexander Lange. Electrical items for industry as well as mechanical and plant engineering have been in the range of the traditional company since the 1980s. In November 2019 it was announced that the traditional Minden company Endler & Kumpf will close on December 31, 2019 after 260 years.
