Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence (EMI) describes the integration of production data from different sources in a company.

An essential component of the EMI is the vertical integration of company data, i.e. the relationship between automation-related data that is typically made available via a manufacturing execution system and business data that is managed in the enterprise resource planning system. By establishing continuous data streams, key performance indicators for production are to be determined and linked with business parameters at the planning level in order to enable a timely analysis of the production processes and their influence.
