The First National University of Science and Technology Kaohsiung ( Chinese 國立 高雄 科技 大學 , Pinyin Guólì Gaōxióng Kējì Dàxúe , Tongyong Pinyin Gúolì Gaosyóng Kējì Dàsyúe , NKFUST ) was a research university in Kaohsiung (1998 , Taiwan , the University of Applied Sciences ) from 1995 as a university) existed until 2018. She was also known by the colloquial short form of her Chinese name Gaōkēdà ( 高科 大 ) or Gaōxióngkēdà ( 高雄 科 大 ).
On February 1, 2018, the NKFUST merged with the Kaohsiung National University for Applied Sciences (KUAS) and the Kaohsiung National Marine University (NKMU) in the newly established Kaohsiung National University for Natural Sciences and Technology (NKUST).
Founding history
On July 1, 1995, the National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung ( 年 國立 高雄 技術 學院 , National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung ) was established. On July 1, 1998, it received the rank of university and the designation Kaohsiung National First University of Science and Technology ( 年 國立 高雄 第一 科技 大學 , National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology ).
In 2009, 6,718 students were enrolled in five faculties with a total of 15 departments and 238 professors.
