The European Association for Accident Research and Accident Analysis eV (EVU), also European Association for Accident Research and Analysis , is a Europe-wide association of experts who are active in the fields of accident research and accident reconstruction .
General
The European Association for Accident Research and Accident Analysis was founded in 1991 by the German accident analyst Heinz Burg in order to strengthen the position of accident experts in Europe. The EVU consists of an umbrella organization with its headquarters in Graz and 21 individual country groups (as of 2020). The association has set itself the goal of improving the basics and methodology in accident analysis, organizing projects for accident research and improving the exchange of specialist knowledge within Europe. The EVU organizes a conference each year, which is usually organized by one of the country groups. Together with the DVR , the "European Commercial Vehicle Safety Prize" is awarded annually.
As part of the European Road Safety Charter, the EVU has undertaken to help increase it by increasing the number of its members by ten percent over the next three years.
