from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Monetary Agreement was an agreement concluded in Paris on August 5, 1955 by some European OECD countries, which replaced the European Payments Union in 1959 and which lasted until 1971.

Among other things, it stipulated the fluctuation range of the currencies of the signatory states against the US dollar of ± 0.75 percent. The fluctuation range between the currencies was therefore ± 1.5 percent.
