The company European Satellite Navigation Industries ( ESN Industries , ESNIS or ESNI ) was a joint venture of the satellite construction companies Alcatel Alenia Space SAS (France), Alcatel Alenia Space SpA (Italy) (19 percent), EADS Astrium GmbH (Germany) ( 38 percent), EADS Astrium Ltd (England), Galileo Sistemas y Servicios (consortium of 7 Spanish companies) and Thales (France). The name Galileo Industries (GaIn) gave it up in December 2006, because the British computer company for travel reservation systems Galileo International Technology claims older name rights for itself.

As the main contractor, ESNI was to set up the Galileo navigation system. The companies involved had undertaken not to submit any competing offers for Galileo outside the company.

The company has its headquarters in Ottobrunn near Munich and a representative in Rome . In mid-2007 it employed around 80 people, some of whom are directly employed by the consortium companies.

The company's future has been uncertain since 2008 after the European Commission took over the financing of Galileo and hired ESA to carry it out.
