Eutychus (Greek: Εὔτυχος, "happier") was, according to the Acts of the Apostles of Luke, a young man who fell asleep in Alexandria Troas during an evening sermon by the Apostle Paul ( Acts 20,9-12  EU ). The fall of the otherwise unknown Christian from the window seat on the third floor to the floor in front of the house and the subsequent resuscitation by Paul is a popular motif in the history of Christian sermons as a warning against “church sleep”.
