The Evangelical Academy Vienna (EAW), founded in 1962, is an Austrian institution for adult education .

activity

The educational institution sees itself as a "place of conversation and intellectual controversy between different beliefs, world views and political attitudes." It strives for a "culture of discussion of equal participation of participants, experts and representatives of opposing points of view" and wants a free space for encounters and disputes to offer. It is organized as a non-profit association.

The EAW organizes lectures, seminars, conferences, workshops and training, enables research work and sees itself as an interface between the church sector and state-sponsored and publicly oriented adult education.

The director is the German cultural scientist Kirsten Beuth .
