ExtendSim is a simulation program from Imagine That Inc. that can be used to create discrete , continuous and agent-based simulation models. There are four ExtendSim program packages (AT, CP, OR, Suite). Applications such as spreadsheets or databases can be integrated into ExtendSim.

Creation of a simulation model

Simulation models are created in ExtendSim by dragging the individual blocks with the mouse onto the modeling surface and connecting them with connecting lines. A block represents a calculation step or a sub-process. These blocks are located in different libraries. The behavior of the blocks can be controlled in a dialog or via other blocks. You can also create your own blocks.

Many blocks have connectors through which simulation objects go into and out of the block. Apart from that, connectors offer the possibility of entering information into a block that influences its behavior. The simulation objects ( items ) move along the connecting lines between the blocks . Items can be given your processing sequence ("Industry 4.0"). It is possible to visually follow the movement of the simulation objects through animation. Database usage plays an important role in advanced applications.

Fields of application

With ExtendSim simulation models from many different areas can be created. It is used for simulation models etc. a. used in manufacturing, the health system, communication, defense, agriculture, the environment, energy, the service sector and the internal flow of information.
