Fédération Européenne de Psychologie des Sports et des Activités Corporelles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fédération Européenne de Psychologie des Sports et des Activités Corporelles ( FEPSAC for short , French : European Federation of the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activities ) is the European Association for Sport Psychology , which has existed since 1969 .

In 1995, FEPSAC first established a definition for sports psychology . In this it says:

"Sport psychology as a scientific discipline, as well as a professional field, is loosely associated with, and draws upon, the three areas of (1) sport practice, (2) psychology and (3) other sport sciences. These areas are considered equally valid. All of them have a bearing on the topics, the theoretical foundations, the methodological approaches, and the scientific and ethical standards of sport psychology. "

Sports psychology is therefore both a scientific discipline ( sports science - the mother science , however, is psychology ) - and a professional field that is based on scientific principles.
