FTP Voyager is an FTP client for the Windows operating system . FTP Voyager is developed by Mark P. Peterson and translated and published in German-speaking countries by kapper.net.
FTP Voyager has existed since 1997 as one of the first graphical FTP clients for Windows. Mark Peterson, the inventor of the software, comes from the modem manufacturer US Robotics and recognized the value of graphic data transfer tools early on and developed this software for this reason. Over the years what was originally a rudimentary FTP client developed into the standard for many FTP applications. According to the manufacturer, FTP Voyager is the only client that understands every FTP server dialect, which is not always an easy undertaking given the number of several thousand different dialects.
In addition to the basic functions, FTP Voyager now offers fully encrypted data transmission via SSL-FTP (also FTP-TLS / FTPS) or SSH File Transfer Protocol , as well as exceptional synchronization options between client and server and schedule functions for the controlled execution of various data transfers.
A special function of this FTP client is the so-called synchronous navigation , a patented navigation which automatically selects the directory of the same name in the client window when changing a directory in the server window and vice versa. A feature that web designers particularly appreciate.
Together with the sister product Serv-U , the FTP Voyager offers a simple communication platform for internal company file transfers as well as for the exchange of sensitive data between companies, employees, branches and many other applications.
