Subject class

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vocational school instruction in Germany takes place in so-called specialist classes .

If possible, the specialist classes are formed as regional specialist classes; where the number of students does not allow this, supra-regional specialist classes are formed.

Usually the specialist classes are grouped according to occupation. If the number of students is insufficient, closely related professions are taught together. On the other hand, if the students pay high, they can also be subdivided according to subject.

Regional specialist classes

In regional specialist classes, vocational school lessons generally take place at one to max. held two days a week.

Supraregional specialist classes

In the case of supraregional subject classes (district subject classes, state subject classes, federal subject classes), vocational school lessons preferably take place in the form of block lessons. Since the place of training and the place of residence are often far away from the vocational school, boarding school accommodation is often offered.
