Water transport specialist train

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The water transport specialist train is usually a sub-unit of the district fire brigade readiness , which must be set up by the fire brigades of the district according to the Lower Saxony Fire Protection Act .

Its job is to quickly transport large amounts of water to a deployment site. Like most of the other special features of a district fire brigade, it is also formed from the vehicles of various fire brigades. Usually it consists of at least three fire trucks . These vehicles are mostly occupied by the members of the fire brigades concerned, who are often alerted via special alarm circuits.

The water transport specialist train is mainly used where either large amounts of water are required (depending on the equipment, the specialist train transports up to 12,000 liters of water) or the next water extraction point is very far away, for example in the event of forest and other vegetation fires. It is both an alternative and a supplement to the pumping of extinguishing water over long distances .
