Fenaroli-Ghiani case

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fenaroli-Ghiani case , known in Italy as Mistero di via Monaci , was an unsolved Italian murder case.

The geometer Giovanni Fenaroli (owner of the Fenarolimpresa company ) and the electrical engineer Raoul Ghiani were accused of strangling Maria Martirano on September 10, 1958 in via Ernesto Monaci in Rome. Despite contradictions, both were convicted by the Corte d'Assise d'Appello di Roma on June 11, 1961 , while 20,000 people demonstrated outside the court. In 1984 Ghiani was pardoned.
