The Federal Signal Streethawk Lightbar is the most widely used warning bar in the USA , which corresponds to the purpose of the German beacon on police and other emergency vehicles . It was built from around 1980 and can be found in numerous films . Today it is only manufactured in the version for municipal vehicles - i.e. with orange hoods.

technology

A Federal Signal warning bar has at least four rotating beacons (rotors), of which two are located at right and left portions and (with colored, translucent domes English domes ) are covered. Available colors: blue, red, white (transparent), orange (English amber ) and rarely green, which is mostly only used by British emergency doctors . The variant with siren can be equipped with two lights each to the front, back and to the sides. These lights can be ordered in the cover colors above. Black, opaque covers are placed in places where lights are not desired. These headlights either light up or flash alternately (alternating flash light). The blinking combinations can be freely plugged with any light. This means that every second light can flash differently. However, this option is normally not used. In the version for municipal vehicles and the version without a siren and a silver protective grille in the middle of the bar, there is space for a third transparent cover in the above-mentioned colors and a rotor. In addition, two headlights can be installed to the front and two to the rear. Thus, a fully equipped special signal system without a siren can have up to 10 headlights and 5 rotors.
