Error collection card

Example of a fault collection card

The error collection card is a special form of the test sheet and an established procedure for evaluating attributive tests. Since the error collection card only contains the number, but no measured values, for defective parts, an evaluation can only be made using the number of errors. However, a statistical evaluation with control limits is also possible, as with the quantitative quality control card. The error collection card provides valuable information for the optimization of production processes. Due to its simplicity, the error collection card can also be filled with information by people without extensive QM training.

analysis

The frequency of occurring errors is shown either in the absolute number (type u-map) or as a percentage of the total error frequency (type p-map). In the case of the error collection card, the evaluation usually takes place in a Pareto analysis according to the types of error that occur. A recursive representation of errors through features and detailed sub-features enables the successive delimitation of the causes of errors in the development process of a product and leads to CIP . Further process optimization is also possible through the Pareto analysis according to components or processes. The error collection card is the basis for calculating failure statistics for a product or a component or individual components.
