Field mill or cart mill

A field mill (also: wagon mill ) is a special type of Göpel mill . The grinder of the field mill is mounted on a cart that is pulled by horses. They were used to supply troops in war.

There are two types of drive:

  • Field mills that drive the grinder via the wheel axle while the carriage was running.
  • Field mills that drove the grinder in the Göpel factory.

Field mills with a combined type of drive are also known.

Such a Göpelmühle is already shown on a copper engraving by Zonca "Novo teatro di machine, 1607".
