The Ordinance on Firing Systems and Fuel Storage (in short: Firing Ordinance - FeuVO ) is the legal basis for setting up and operating firing systems . It applies to fireplaces, heat pumps and block-type thermal power stations that are used to heat rooms and provide hot water, as well as to domestic gas cooking appliances.

Firing regulations are issued by the individual federal states based on their building regulations . The district chimney sweeps monitor compliance with the provisions of the combustion ordinances.
