Feuerschuh und Windsandale is an illustrated children's book by the author Ursula Wölfel and the illustrator Heiner Rothfuchs. It addresses the problems of an overweight boy who finds support in his family.

The book was published by Hoch Verlag in 1961 and received the prestigious German Youth Literature Prize in 1962 . It is one of the classics of German-language youth and children's literature.

The protagonist Tim is an overweight child who is often teased and ridiculed. Therefore, he feels uncomfortable at school and in everyday life. But his father gives him red hiking boots for his birthday and takes Tim with him on hikes. Together they are "fire shoe" and "wind sandal". His father tells Tim stories while hiking. By spending time together, Tim realizes that he enjoys support and stability in his family. He no longer wants to be different, but accepts his situation and learns to laugh at himself.
