The Fiat CR.20 was an Italian biplane - fighter aircraft of the 1920s and early 1930s. It has also been exported to various countries in Europe and overseas.
history
The first flight of the fighter designed by engineer Celestino Rosatelli took place on June 19, 1926. The machine was an important development stage from the Fiat CR.1 to the Fiat CR.32 and was powered by a water -cooled Fiat A.20 V-engine .
The aircraft was also sold to Austria , Hungary , Lithuania , Poland and Spain .
commitment
Italy used the machines offensively at the beginning of the Abyssinian War , and in the late 1930s they were only used for training and aerobatic purposes. Five or six copies sold to Paraguay were used in the Chaco War.
variants
The CR.20bis manufactured from 1930 onwards differed from the standard variant only in a modified chassis. Important variants were the seaplane CR.20 Idro and the CR.20 Asso with a 450 hp engine from Isotta Fraschini .
