Finissage (event)
The finissage ([ finɪˈsaːʒə ], from French fini , “ended”) is a festive occasion to close an exhibition or to mark the closure of an institution open to the public (such as a gallery). It thus forms the counterpart to the vernissage . Both often address a select audience in order to draw media interest and attention to the objects in the exhibition. In addition, a midissage is occasionally held at halftime at larger exhibitions .
