Finos film

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Finos Film ( Greek Φίνος Φιλμ ) is a film company that dominated film production in Greece from 1943 to 1977 .

The company was founded in 1942 by Filopimin Finos, who managed it until his death in 1977. The studios were first in Athens and later in Spata, east of Athens. Since the late 1970s, Greek film production has steadily declined in favor of imported foreign films, and television has also led to cinema deaths. After 1977 the company therefore concentrated on film distribution and post-production and did not produce any more films until 2006. In 2006 Finos Film got back into motion picture production with the Greek-Italian co-production "Uranya".
