First Hour Quintet

First Hour Quintet (FHQ) is an emergency medical research catchphrase that was introduced in September 2002 at a meeting of the European Resuscitation Council . This definition is understood to mean a group of threatening patient conditions that can be effectively influenced by the timely deployment of the rescue service .

The individual components are:

  1. Cardiac arrest
  2. Chest pain
  3. stroke
  4. Shortness of breath
  5. severe injury

The FHQ is used for cross-border comparisons of the emergency services.
