Fitschenring
A Fitschenring is a washer with a narrow edge and, derived from Fitschenband (Fitschband or Fischband), a regionally varying name for window and door hinges of older designs on wooden windows and doors. If the rebated or chiselled corner connection of a panel door gives way so that the sash sinks or a door rubs against the floor due to wear of the bands or changes to the floor covering, it can be positioned higher by means of one or more fitting rings per band. The same number of rings should be used on each door hinge in order to optimally distribute the load.
The prerequisite for the use of Fitschenringe is that the door has a sufficiently large gap at the top rebate (rebate clearance) to the window or door frame so that the door leaf or window sash does not hit the frame when it is closed.
The standard dimensions of the disc are adapted to the diameter of the mandrels of the belts . Typical inside / outside diameters are: 6/10 mm, 8/12 mm, 11/16 mm, 13/18 mm
Fitschenrings are not suitable for doors with 3-part hinges. If these hinges do not have their own adjustment mechanism, the door leaf must be shortened if it rubs against the floor.
