Bidi Bidi refugee settlement

The Bidi Bidi refugee settlement is located in the Yumbe province in northwest Uganda . 227,909 people who fled the civil war in South Sudan since 2016 live in Bidi Bidi . It is the second largest refugee settlement in the world (as of July 2019).

The refugees are registered and, in addition to food parcels and water cans, receive a small plot of land on which they can build accommodation with the materials provided.
