History and construction

The FD-25 Defender was a conventional low wing aircraft with a fixed tail wheel landing gear . The aircraft was an all-metal construction and the pilot sat under a wide plexiglass canopy. Three prototypes were built, two single-seaters and one two-seater, but no orders were placed by the US military. In Japan, Toyo acquired the rights to the design and built around a dozen aircraft, sold seven (three single-seat attack aircraft and three two-seat trainers) to Cambodia , and four to Vietnam .
