Centrifugal bang

A centrifugal bang is the sudden rupture of a rotating part ( grinding wheel , cutting wheel , flywheel, rotor, etc.) as a result of excessive centrifugal force .

The term used primarily with the standard operating rules of the fire departments use. It describes, for example, the destruction of a wind turbine that has gotten out of control due to the failure of the safety devices.
